Oh three-day weekend...how I love you!

I just love three day weekends. They are completely exhausting because there are so many activities and I sleep...VERY LITTLE. But I just don't want to miss out on anything. In case you are wondering why it is a three day weekend there is a little treasure I like to call Pioneer Day, it is a state holiday and we get a day off work! YES! On a side note, I distinguish days on activities because normally you only do one activity per day so when I do more than one activity it feels like a different day. This as been happening to me a lot...so many activities in one day therefore I can barely remember what I did on Thursday but I would like to walk you through my weekend because it was just BLESSED through and through!
Thursday:
  • Dinner with Bri. Even though she is married we still get to see each other quite a bit! It makes me so happy!!!
  • Katie Clevland's (friend from last apartment!) bridal shower. It was so good to see old friends! :)

  • Outdoor movie at the capitol. Forever Strong. To refresh your memory, I watch this movie once before at an outdoor movie night and it is just a fantastic movie. I'm not really a movie critic though!
Friday:
  • Took Rachel (my roommate) to the airport. It was really sad, she is going to be gone for 2+ weeks and I'm going to miss her very much!
  • World's Largest Water Balloon Fight...oh my blessed event! It was INCREDIBLE! I have been looking forward to this for quite some time now and it was all that I dreamed it would be and more. We did in fact break the record...just barely though! There was a pretty big group from my ward there but we didn't all get a picture together. Best part of the fight...water balloons were flying everywhere and hitting you everywhere and one hit me in the mouth and popped in there! Haha. I had to pull the remnants of the balloon out of my mouth! This activity also came with a free lunch...what more could you ask for?? Here are some pics and a video for your viewing pleasure!
Before picture: Bryanne, Devan, Me, James, Elyse
Heidi was there too! Love this girl!
We each got a bag of 30 balloons
After pic! Orange and Blue totally came out victorious!
  • After that a small group of us went for a dip in the pool and then got snow cones and ate them in a park. Actually I'm not a huge fan of snow cones so I didn't get one but I did enjoy the ride!
  • That night I spent that Becca's house in Alpine Becca is a friend from the ward, there was a small group of us that went and it was a blast. We made a DELICIOUS dinner and then some more swimming and then smoothies and a horrible movie that I slept through (while that is saying next to nothing because I sleep through really great movies...this movie was seriously terrible) An Education...don't see it!
  • Best part of the day: I wore my bathing suit for probably 8 hours and didn't shower! BAHAHA!
Saturday (Pioneer Day, June 24th, Thank you Pioneers):
  • I woke up fairly early and took Elyse to the airport. She was in the ward during the fall/winter but is now living and home in AZ preparing for grad school in the fall. She was just visiting for the weekend but got to enjoy the water balloon fight as well as some Alpine activities.
  • Now here is where the festivities really begin:
  • Farmer's Market in SLC...this was fun...really hot but they had some BOMB salsa...I would have bought some if I had cash OR had somewhere cool to store it all day. But give my circumstances I wasn't able to.
  • Native American Festival: When I heard those words I just knew I needed to go...how does one pass up an opportunity like that? It was such a let down and was more like a tiny street fair however there was something inside a tent that sounded more fun but you had to pay money. On the upside it was at the same park as a bird zoo. It was cool we watched one show and walked around a bit.
  • Fictionist concert. Local band played a concert up at one of the ski resorts, it was fun. Before we went into the concert there was a stream down below where we park and we decided to go down and check it out. Not a good idea two of us decided to just run down the hill and that was a horrible idea at the bottom of the hill, before the stream was a lovely little swap that was hidden until you were IN IT! Needless to say my favorite shoes and legs were covered in mud and washing off in the stream was ICY COLD!
  • After the concert we enjoyed some fireworks after the Salt Lake Real game!
All in all it was a FABULOUS weekend! However I am really tired...this morning I wasn't sure if my snooze was on or not, didn't care and went back to sleep. Luckily it was on and I was on time to work but man, I need a nap! This weekend equals about two weeks in activity time!

Hello Blogging World

I haven't posted in a while, I'm sorry...I know you are all on the edge of you seats wondering what I have been up to. This summer has just been so PERFECT I don't have time to blog...I'll try to be better though because I actually have things to blog about which is shocking!

So I went home for about a month from about mid May to mid June. It was so fun, and so great to spend an extended period of time with the fam!
That hasn't happened for about 2 years!!! But I'm back in P-town now. It's so great, summers here are SOO fun! I'm really enjoying myself. Also I'm really glad I'm not taking classes...1. because I have no classes to take in the fall and 2. because I would ABSOLUTELY not be motivated. Here have been some highlights of the last month:
  1. I contracted an eye disease while I was in CA....thanks! So I can not wear my contacts for 3 months...I hate glasses. It has been really ridiculous. (that isn't fun I just wanted to share)
  2. 4th of July is done BIG in Provo. They have "Freedom Days" which is this little street fair thing with booths that sell an array of RANDOMNESS and they have performances and fun things to check out. My roommate performed so I went and watched her and went another day to just check things out. It was way fun. The 4th was a Sunday so the city celebrated on the 3rd and the 5th...obviously! :) On the 3rd there were fireworks from the stadium of fire which I missed...long story, not that important but it was still fun. On the 5th there was a parade...WOW...never seen such a parade. It was literally 2.5 hours long...um....WHAT?!?! It was the craziest thing I've ever seen but so fun, I actually felt patriotic on the 4th this year. I did however receive a picture from my mom and realized that the legend still lives on...
  3. So random activities in Provo are probably my favorite thing...last week there was a shaving cream slip-n-slide...if any of you know me you know that is right up my alley! There were SO many people there and I'm surprised I didn't get more than a few scrapes and bruises. It was AWESOME!
Just to give you an idea of what it looked like! With all the peeps!
Action Shot! Bryanne is in the green shorts...we're going to be roommates next year (fun fact of the day). Also please take note of my foot about to kick that girl in the face. That day...we all got a little closer!
And here is the group that I came with...actually Brandon came with us too but idk where he was...These are some ward friends! It was so fun. After we went and washed ourselves off in the pool. Hopefully they have good filters!

So this week's random activities are an outdoor movie on the capitol lawn, world's largest water balloon fight, and pioneer day celebrations. For those of you not familiar with pioneer day...be jealous, we get a day off work! YES!! Three day weekend BABY!!! Until next time!
